Being able to change the grid value in Logic Pro X is useful when creating intricate drum patterns in the piano roll, or when you’re chopping samples in the main edit window.

Snapping to grid allows you to place the notes or chopped samples with precision and create a professional sound.

To change the grid value you simply need to go to ‘Logic Pro X’, then click on ‘Key Commands’ click on ‘Edit’ and type in ‘Division’ in the search box. There you’ll see ‘Set Next Higher Division’ and ‘Set Next Lower Division’. These are your default settings but you can choose whichever keys you’d prefer on your keyboard by highlighting the ‘Learn by Key Label’ and choosing a new shortcut.
