I’m KC — music producer and mix engineer from South East London.
I got into making beats back in 2001 using Music Generator on the PlayStation 2 (if you know, you know). Before music, football was my whole life — but after a bunch of knee injuries and missed opportunities, that dream came to an end. I’ve always been super driven though, so I knew I needed a new outlet to pour my energy and creativity into.
Then I found out Daniel Bedingfield made “Gotta Get Thru This” in his bedroom, and that lit a fire in me. I thought, “That’s what I wanna do — make music that connects with people, right from my own setup.” Of course, I quickly realised there’s way more to producing than just stacking loops on a grid — and let’s be honest, those PS2 beats weren’t hitting like I thought they were (lol).
Fast forward a bit — in 2005 I moved to Nottingham to study at Confetti, which led me to a music production degree at Leeds College of Music. Since then, I’ve been producing and mixing for artists, helping them turn ideas into finished records that actually sound industry-ready.
